Mark graduated in 2019 from Willamette University with a degree in Chemistry. In the Battle Lab, he worked on comparing directly and indirectly responsive quadruplexes as a way of optimizing their use as live-cell sensors.

Mark is currently working as a researcher at Dupont Nutrition, and will be starting a Masters program in Fall 2020 in Molecular Life Sciences at Wageningen University in the Netherlands
