Elizabeth Larson

Elizabeth graduated from Willamette University in 2021 with a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry focus and a B.A. in Studio Art.

During her time in the Battle Lab, Elizabeth was awarded Willamette's top research honor, the Presidential Scholarship, to pursue an extended research project in her final year. Her research project focused on an in-depth examination of the structural effects of long lateral loops in guanine quadruplexes, specifically on understanding the conditions that lead to a two-step transition in some 4G quadruplexes with particularly long loops. She blended this project with her background in art as she made scientifically accurate movable sculptures of folded quadruplexes.
